Please join our dedicated team of Emergency Medicine Physicians at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and East Hampton Emergency Department, a member of the Stony Brook Medicine Health System, located in Easthampton, New York. As part of this integrated academic health system, Physicians at East Hampton, ED contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The role includes providing comprehensive care for observation and inpatient populations while in the hospital, participating in the education of residents and medical students, and supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of care across the health system

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

• Daily rounds on patient census

• Presence at change of shift for sign out is essential

• Admit patients to the hospital from through the Stony Brook Southampton and Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Departments and other locations within the organization.

• Obtains accurate medical histories, performs physical examinations, and makes diagnosis, develops treatment plans, and orders appropriate, standard laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary.

• Collaborates with consulting medical providers

• Accurately and timely documents patient symptoms and clinical findings in the Electronic Medical Record as a progress note daily while the patient is on observation or an inpatient.

• Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patients’ plan of care.

• Follows established evidence-based practices and ensures good quality patient care.

• Provides patient education about underlying medical conditions, self-management of acute or chronic illnesses and tailor’s instructions to patients’ individual circumstances.

• Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.

• Oversees and mentors fellows and medical residents on the medical teams

• Responsible for conduct and patient interaction of shadowing medical students, physician extenders and nursing interns.

• Salary:

  $320,000 – 350,000 for 24 weeks of day shifts annually. Opportunity to earn additional compensation if the provider covers night shifts within the 24 weeks. Per diem rates are also available for coverage provided outside of contracted weeks.

   

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring patients or objects may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as assisting with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.

• Under the supervision of physician, obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, makes diagnosis and orders appropriate and standard laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary in the office.
• Evaluates procedure results and finding to physicians.
• Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient’s plan of care.
• Provides patient education about underlying medical condition, self-management of acute or chronic illnesses and tailors instructions to patients’ individual circumstances. Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.

This is an opening for the front desk of a busy practice. You are the first point of contact with the patients.

Responsible for the daily coordination of the clinical aspects of the medical office while collaborating with the front desk scheduling to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction and care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Place patients in the examination rooms and document for the physician the medication log , vitals and the main reason for the visit in Cerner EMR
• Perform screening and measuring procedures according to protocol.  Record findings in the electronic medical record (EMR) Cerner system. Record pharmacy information for each patient for E-Prescribing.

Embryologist III is responsible, along with other Lab staff, for providing quality Embryology procedures including but not limited to intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), Assisted hatching (AH), embryo grading and transfer, embryo/blastocyst vitrification, blastocyst biopsy, biopsied cell processing, oocyte vitrification and warming for infertile couples wishing to achieve pregnancy. Responsibilities include technical benchwork, administrative tasks as assigned by the lab director, quality control and quality assurance activities and documentation including result reporting and tissue transmittal (paper as well as electronic). The primary role of a radiologic technologist (also called an x-ray technologist or radiographer) is using x-ray equipment to produce images of tissues, organs, bones, and vessels and administering radiation therapy treatments. Although radiologic technologists are required to be knowledgeable in all terminology related with radiography, anatomy, pathology, etc., a professional technologist will also possess strong interpersonal skills. A large part of the job requires giving instructions to patients who may be a bit nervous with the various radiography procedures. A well-trained technologist will be able to give straight-forward instructions as well as foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and operate diagnostic X-Ray imaging equipment and materials
• Adjusts the X-Ray equipment and operates controls to ensure there is no overexposure
• Perform various X-Ray exams according to Radiation Safety Officer’s standards and procedures
• While using clear communication, position and assist patients for imaging/exam
• Shielding patients from unnecessary exposure to radiation
• Follow providers orders to ensure accuracy of image capture
• Evaluate taken images for accuracy and clarity; ensure laterality is labeled
• Enter patient’s demographic data and patient history of any comparable exams
• Maintains all required documentation to meet regulatory standards
• Transfers daily images to LifeImage; utilize checks and balances to ensure report is received from SB imaging department, signed off, and scanned into chart
• Prepare CDs with images for patient requests
• Communicates with consulting agency for quarterly inspections of equipment
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitized X-Ray room
