Responsibilities

SUMMARY: This position requires the technologist to be creative and responsible for providing excellence in clinical care as well as providing quality radiographs for the provider to make a diagnosis. The technologist must work efficiently and professionally, as he/she is a representative of the Department to provide services for other departments and referring physicians. The incumbent will need to work independently the majority of the time, with limited to no supervision.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

• Perform Ultrasound imaging procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
• Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative.
• Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures, as required.
• Transfers and positions, provides immobilization devices, as required, to produce diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
• Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
• Selects and operates equipment as directed.
• Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards (where applicable).
• Responsible for reporting all ultrasound findings
• Performs QA to images and facilitate in the delivery of the images to the PACS System for dictation.
• Practice sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination during invasive procedures.
• Responsible for delegating areas of authority in the performance of procedures.
• May be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the school of sonography and ancillary personnel.
• Assist in performing first aid.
• Conduct periodic quality control tests.
• Participate or conduct research in required specialty.
• Maintain adequate records as directed.
• Maintain order and cleanliness.
• Secures and returns supplies.
• Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department.

The Registered Nurse collaborates with the physicians in an office setting.

Essential Job Functions:

• Under the direction and supervision of a license physician or Nurse Practitioner, provides health care to patients including diagnosis and treatment.
• Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, makes diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Review test results.
• Provides patient education about underlying medical conditions.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
• Places patient in exam room and documents reason for the visit.
• Measures patients’ height, weight and all vital signs.
• Gather/enter/document patient information in the EMR.
• Administers immunizations/medications as needed.
• Prepares and administers allergy injections, skin testing and patch testing.
• The Registered Nurse will perform other duties as assigned by supervising physicians.
• Ensure HIPPA guidelines are followed at all times.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a? LPN to work in a private office setting which requires specialized knowledge, clinical judgment and nursing skills. The LPN is part of a team using patient care skills to meet established practice guidelines, office policies and regulatory standards, under supervision of the physician assistant, nurse practitioner or physician.

As part of this integrated academic health system, hospitalists at Southampton Hospital contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The role includes providing comprehensive care for observation and inpatient populations while in the hospital, participating in the education of residents and medical students, and supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of care across the health system

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

• Daily rounds on patient census

• Presence at change of shift for sign out is essential

• Admit patients to the hospital from through the Stony Brook Southampton and Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Departments and other locations within the organization.

• Obtains accurate medical histories, performs physical examinations, and makes diagnosis, develops treatment plans, and orders appropriate, standard laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary.

• Collaborates with consulting medical providers

• Accurately and timely documents patient symptoms and clinical findings in the Electronic Medical Record as a progress note daily while the patient is on observation or an inpatient.

• Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patients? plan of care.

• Follows established evidence-based practices and ensures good quality patient care.

• Provides patient education about underlying medical conditions, self-management of acute or chronic illnesses and tailor?s instructions to patients? individual circumstances.

• Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.

• Oversees and mentors fellows and medical residents on the medical teams

• Responsible for conduct and patient interaction of shadowing medical students, physician extenders and nursing interns.

• Salary:

  $320,000 – 350,000 for 24 weeks of day shifts annually. Opportunity to earn additional compensation if the provider covers night shifts within the 24 weeks. Per diem rates are also available for coverage provided outside of contracted weeks.

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring patients or objects may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as assisting with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.

Job Summary:

Essential Job Functions:

• Answer incoming calls.
• Triage phone calls and determine if urgent, give call to physician or nurse immediately.

The Unit Coordinator will manage schedules for designated unit. Duties and responsibilities include, and are not limited to, ensuring unit schedules reflect updated changes, monitor appointment slot availability as well as weekly and monthly volume. The unit coordinator will handle daily electronic messaging and appointment recalls. The unit coordinator will manage and report recall scheduling and its’ productivity within the unit. Authorizations and referrals will be monitored by the unit coordinator.

This position will report directly to the Senior Administrative Supervisor and will be primarily located at NSC headquarters at 45 Research Way, Suite 206, East Setauket, NY.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage unit schedules daily including updating schedules to reflect changes
• Post daily availability within the unit
• Provide accurate weekly and monthly totals performed within the unit.
• Manage physician orders for the uniReview and handle all electronic messages in a timely & efficient manner.
• Process all signed reports including scanning, attaching, faxing, and forwarding to ordering physicians in a timely manner, when appropriate.
• Monitor schedules for cancelations and no shows
• ·Prints all superbills daily for all office locations, ensure all superbills are accurately filled out and sent to the billing office timely
• ·Ensure all waivers are provided to patients, scanned, attached, and sent to the billing office
• Ensures authorizations or referral are obtained prior to patient visit
• Ensures patients are aware of financial responsibility and all communication is documented in the EMR
• Performs all desk responsibilities such as arriving patients for their appointments and collecting copays.
• Creates and manages daily reading schedules for providers

Practice’s goal is to establish multiple offerings for counseling including one on one instruction, small, and medium sized classes. Areas of focus to include promotion of weight loss, blood pressure control, lipid optimization, plant based diet, and overall wellness. Clientele to come from pre-existing, well established referral base.

General Summary:
