JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

• Provides health care to patients including diagnosis of neurological conditions such as stroke, dementia and neuromuscular diseases and treatment.
• Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, and makes diagnosis, and orders appropriate, standard laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary.
• Evaluates procedure results. Provides preventative as well as acute care.
• Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patients’ plan of care.
• Provides patient education about underlying medical condition, self-management of acute or chronic illnesses and tailors instructions to patients’ individual circumstances.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
• Prescribes medications.
• Documents exam and progress notes in the Electronic Medical Record. Provides referral letters as needed.
• Collects, monitors and reports on patient outcomes.
• Ensure HIPAA guidelines are followed at all times.
• Responsible for the conduct and care given by other clinical office staff including nurses, medical assistants and technologists. The physician is the head of the clinical team.
• Responsible for conduct and patient interaction of shadowing medical students, physician extenders and nursing interns.
• Responsible for meeting quality benchmarks established by Population Health, Payors, NYS DOH or Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services.
• Follows established evidence based practices and assures good quality patient care.
• Must build a patient population base to generate revenue to cover salary & expenses.

Salary Range:

• $350,000-$450,000 annually 

The IT Project Manager will be a member of the Stony Brook Medicine IT PMO Team and will report to the SBM Director, IT Program Manager. This individual will work in a fast-paced environment as part of multi-disciplinary project teams. The Project Manager will focus on implementing IT solutions focusing on Outpatient Physician and/or Outpatient Hospital Practice Expansions. These expansions include, but are not limited to, the opening of new practice locations, moves of existing practices to new locations, breakdowns and setup of practice locations.

The successful candidate will bring a balance of creative problem solving and hands-on IT Project Management skills and will follow SBM Project Management Office (PMO) standard methodology.

Responsibilities will include:

• Develops the project work plan, work breakdown structure, and schedule using a designated project management tool for project team usage. Project Plans include sufficient task-level detail to capture known dependencies and major milestones.
• Management of all projects assigned to oversee.
• Utilize effective project and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ensure all projects are consistent with overall customer objectives and strategic plans.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of cross-functional project teams and ensures adherence to the project plan.

We are looking for highly specialized candidates with excellent diagnostic skills for the position of hematologist. Hematologists are responsible for conducting physical examinations and analyzing a patient's medical history, studying blood samples and identifying white or red blood cell abnormalities and analyzing patient historical data, and using data to make informed decisions, among other duties.

Hematologists will need to communicate with patients and keep them informed at all times, requiring good interpersonal and communicative ability.

This is an opening for the front desk of a busy practice. You are the first point of contact with the patients.

Essential Job Functions:

Position Summary

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) in Hematology/Oncology is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and other infusion treatments. This role requires clinical expertise in oncology nursing, strong critical thinking skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, blood products, and supportive infusions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
• Monitor patients during treatments for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to emergencies or complications
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and educational needs
• Access and manage central lines (e.g., PICC lines, ports, and central venous catheters)
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side effects, symptom management, and home care instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for the daily coordination of the clinical aspects of the medical office while collaborating with the front desk scheduling to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction and care.

• Evaluate lead Medical Assistant for need of placing patients in the examination rooms and document for the physician the medication log , vitals and the main reason for the visit in Cerner EMR
• Perform screening and measuring procedures according to protocol. This may include, but is not limited to height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, EKG. Record findings in the electronic medical record (EMR) Cerner system. Record pharmacy information for each patient for E-Prescribing.
• Assist the Lead Medical Assistant with flow of the physician to comply with schedule
• Draw blood when necessary. Copy patient insurance card to attach to requisition.
• Maintain room cleanliness.
• Assist in obtaining radiology reports, assessment reports and or outside physician documentation..
• Schedule ancillary services and other procedures as needed.
• Maintain, scan patient charts into EMR
• Call in renewal of prescriptions as directed by Physician. Review with physician for any changes needed.
• Secure all medication/needles to be in locked cabinet
• Ensure patient results and correspondences are reviewed in a timely manner by the physician and appropriate follow up is performed according to the physician?s direction

Salary Range:
