Job Summary:

The role of a Medical Billing Lead is to ensure the practice is correctly representing the services they are providing patients to the insurance company for the purpose of reimbursement. The Lead Biller will continue to perform authorization duties. They are required to ensure all edits from within IDX have been corrected. Consistent communication with the Billing Supervisor and Practice Administrator is expected so all parties have the most up-to-date information. They are to assist the billing supervisor and disperse work to Island Fertility Finance teams. They need to be honest, detailed oriented and efficient..

Must be proficient in Essential Daily Biller Job Functions:

• Charge entry
  • Practice standard is to be no more than 24-48 hours behind on sending out charges.
• Address and fix all edits from IDX
• Sperm Cryo Authorizations
• OB Sono Authorizations

In addition, must be able to:

• Assist Billing Supervisor with Department Review Inquires
  • Requiring a deep understanding of:
    • Billable fertility diagnostic and treatment cycles
    • Coding
    • Insurance Policies
    • Insurance Billing rules
• Understand eIVF’s billing module:
  • CPT and ICD10 management
  • CPT price management
  • Chain of command for interface

To be completed Weekly:

• Meetings with Billing Supervisor and IF Practice Administrator
• Attend meetings with SBAS Staff
