Lead Application Analyst


Will develop, enhance and support all clinical and business systems for Stony Brook Administrative Services and Stony Brook Community Medical. The incumbent may be assigned to a project team as part of the technical build resource and/or support any production systems to ensure the availability of applications. Will develop a thorough understanding of all of the applications used, and be the main technical contact for all new projects as well as working alongside the PM team.



  1. Keep management informed of project status

  2. Participate in new projects when appropriate

  3. Maintain stability and reliability of all systems

  4. Maintain timely and up-to-date project tracking

  5. Adhere to coding guidelines and standards of Information technology

  6. Adhere to customer services standards

  7. Ensure the additions of new applications are technically sound

  8. Review, analyze and implement change/enhancement requests to production applications

  9. Investigate and help resolve application problems

  10. Assist in testing system functionality as well as validating application

  11. Provide on call/recall support

  12. Participate in Cerner application upgrades and implementations- for example UCern and flash updates ? SPM/ EMR community network

  13. Provide reporting when necessary- ?CAR? reporting- Cerner advanced reporting

  14. Document all work according to standards

  15. Debug system problems

  16. Design and use a variety of data base structures

  17. Participate in system design sessions

  18. Train users, write training manuals along side the training team

  19. Work with and monitor 3rd party IT support company, Flexible

  20. Proven adeptness at handling different tasks with different priorities simultaneously
